About GNSCF

What is GNSCF?

The Global Nepali Speaking Christian Fellowship (GNSCF) is a networking ministry among Nepali-speaking churches and pastors in the USA and beyond. As the Nepali-speaking Christian diaspora is expanding, there is a need for a platform where the scattered diaspora of Nepali-speaking Christian leaders come together for fellowship and mutual encouragement for the enhancement of mission work. In this pursuit, GNSCF seeks to build a bridge to connect Nepali-speaking churches/leaders around the globe, to provide a platform of fellowship to encourage and equip these leaders, and to facilitate the use of available and potential resources.

How GNSCF began?

Outside Nepal, a significant number of Nepali-speaking people live in its neighbouring countries such as Bhutan, India, and Burma. Among them, Bhutanese of Nepali descent share a unique story. Nepali-speaking people are dominant residents in Indo-Bhutan border areas, Sikkim, and the other northeast states of India. Historically, the Nepali people migrated to Bhutan starting in the beginning of the 17th century. However, as the Nepali-speaking population grew in Bhutan, the government expelled the Nepali ethnic groups in the 1990s. These Nepali-ethnic, Bhutanese nationals lived a refugee life in the eastern part of Nepal for about twenty years. As God opened the door for these Bhutanese refugees, they received opportunities to be resettled in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Out of these groups, churches in the USA started the BNCA (Bhutanese-Nepalese Churches of America) on July 4, 2011. While Ps. Bhadra Rai was serving as the Pastor of Canaan Bhutanese Church in Houston, Texas and treasurer of the BNCA, he began to compile a contact directory of Nepali-speaking churches among the entire Nepali-speaking diaspora. As pastor Bhadra established connections with different leaders of the diaspora, he felt the need for a new global platform to connect these church leaders, and in 2016, he founded the GNSCF.

However, the 1st GNSCF-Leader Conference was held in Siliguri, India, on March 16-18,2017, where around 900 leaders came from 13 countries. This gathering was starting how to connect with our Nepali-speaking Christian brothers and sisters around the Globe. On the last day of the conference, we had a good meeting with senior Pastors and leaders from different countries to discuss GNSCF. Therefore, all Pastors request and encourage to keep going to such types of conferences in a different county of the world to equip and encourage each other.

So, we organized the 2nd GNSCF-Leader Conference in Kathmandu, Nepal on March 12-14,2019, with around 1000 leaders from 20 countries of the world. It was a blessed fellowship to connect with more leaders across the globe.

In the same spirit after COVID hit, we organized the 3rd GNSCF-Leader Conference in Gangtok, Sikkim, India, on Nov.1-3,2022, with around 1000 leaders from different countries.

Now, the 4th GNSCF-Leader Conference was held in Bangkok, Thailand from July 25-27,2023. So please pray and join us.

GNSCF Country Coordinator Responsibility

A Country Coordinator of the GNSCF will connect with the Nepali-speaking pastors/leaders of his own country. He shall act as an intermediary between GNSCF and that country's pastors/leaders. His duty is to update all country leaders about any events or news pertaining to the GNSCF, including any information issued from the GNSCF board to the pastors of that country. He must form his own country's working team. He must help with GNSCF fundraising from his country and is required to raise funds.

A representative from each country will be given three-five minutes for a video presentation at global Nepali-Speaking leadership conferences. This is an opportunity to present his overall ministry report, such as positive results and various issues the Nepali-speaking Christian community is facing in that country; including growth rate, problems, challenges, ministry needs etc. He shall not be allowed to present personal issues or negative comments about any person, Church, or ministry organization.
